L’arrivée d’Anthony Modeste n’a pas changé grand chose au rythme des Blackburn Rovers. En effet, pour son premier match en tant que titulaire, Anthony n’a pu éviter la défaite à domicile de son équipe face à Newcastle, où évolue un ancien bordelais nommé Gabriel Obertan (buteur d’ailleurs…).
